Personal profile

Helen is an Associate Professor in the School of Fashion and textiles, managing the Fashion Buying area.

She is an expert in the field of design, pattern cutting and garment fit. Her experience in the clothing industry began at production level and progressed to design, pattern cutting, grading and fit diagnosis. As a consultant to the ‘high street’ and niche markets, Helen has advised companies on resolving garment fit issues on women’s, men’s and children’s wear since 2007. Her research focuses on fit and pedagogic practice and her Masters is in Education Practice.

At Faculty level, Helen has helped to set the laws for academic practice at Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ and acts in a quality role on validations and periodic reviews. She is currently an External Examiner at two Institutes.
