Prior to academia, I have spent several years working for financial institutions in different roles in insurance, international banking, credit cards, marketing & product development departments. In my last banking role, I was in charge of a Marketing and Product Development unit of a large retail bank in Turkey. In 2002, I left banking to pursue further academic studies which comprised an MSc in Management and Business Research Methods and the award of a PhD by the Open University. I have been teaching a range of courses within Marketing and Management topics since 2007 at different levels including UG and PG levels involving face-to-face, distance learning and blended-learning programmes.
