I am in the final year of my PhD research focusing on the Human Factors effect on the role Surgical First Assistant. I am professionally qualified, Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Critical Care Specialist, and a Perioperative Care Practitioner with more that 25 years in healthcare services both NHS and independent sectors. I am also a core contributor to Healthcare Knowledge Exchange developing perioperative roles in surgery. I am also a Senior Fellow (Higher Education Academy) enabling me to develop and embed new pedagogy such as live simulation and classroom engagement techniques. I also have continuous working relationship with the NHS, Private and Independent healthcare providers nationally and internationally.
