Personal profile

Dr. Amin Kolahdooz received his PhD in Manufacturing Engineering from Babol University of Technology, Iran, in January 2015. Between 2011 and 2020 he worked at the University of Khomeinishahr, where he was a Researcher and Lecturer (2011-2015), Assistant Professor (2015-2020) and also Director of Research and Development (2017-2018). He achieved the best researcher award among academic staff at the University of Khomeinishahr, twice in 2016 and 2018. He was also a Project Manager at Adonis Industries (2016-2020) where he was responsible for design & development for manufacturing and new product introduction. He moved to the school of Engineering and Sustainable Development, Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ in 2020. 

Dr. Kolahdooz’s research is in the area of mechanics and manufacturing engineering focused on materials processes, materials science, machine learning and using VR and AR in manufacturing. He is also interested to use Finite Element and optimization methods to facilitate design and the production issues. Some of the research projects he was involved in include, e.g., design and fabrication of a SCARA robot for the application of 3D-Printing, fabrication of a portable solar power generator; and also design and manufacture of forging and forming dies. His research projects made him able to publish one national patent and more than 50 journal papers in various world-renowned journals and conferences.
