Personal profile

Liang Hu is a Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Informatics at Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ (Âéw¶¹´«Ã½), UK. He received the PhD degree in Computer Science from Brunel University London, UK, in 2016, and the MEng and BEng degrees both from Harbin Institute of Technology, China, in 2010 and 2008, respectively.

Prior to joining Âéw¶¹´«Ã½, Dr Hu worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) and then Loughborough University. At QUB, he worked with industrial collaborators including Rolls Royce to develop intelligent navigation systems for unmanned marine vehicles (Innovate UK project "MAXCMAS"). At Loughborough University, he developed autonomous search methods of hazardous sources using mobile sensor/vehicle platforms (DSTL/EPSRC joint project "Signal Processing in a Networked Battlespace"). 

Dr Hu’s research focuses on decision making, control, and signal processing for autonomous intelligent systems. He is particularly interested in developing fundamental methods and algorithms that 1) enhance the safety of autonomous systems in complex real-world physical environments or even adverse networked environments (e.g., under cyber-attacks), and 2) enhance the autonomy of connected autonomous vehicles through exploiting and fusing the information from the environment and collaborative vehicles.
