The artist walks, speaks and seeks to show you a queer past that falsely heralded the beginning of a future that never arrived. Instead of a golden fanfare of trumpets the final death knoll rang in the end of a scene and community as it was washed away by the sanitisation of temporary acceptance. An acceptance that was as brief as it was brutal in its decimation of queer spaces.
Part queer pub crawl and part temporal tour guide, this event is a mapping of cities and memories. The artist has attempted to graft their memories over a city where they don’t belong. The city provides a blueprint of a landscape to be painted with your own memories and the memories of others.
Walk with me will be back in full departing from the Campus Centre on Thursday 27 February.
