Free Tai-chi sessions
Free Tai-Chi sessions run every Saturday 9am-10am from late April to October at Green Dragon Square in Leicester city centre. There is no need to register, just turn up on a Saturday morning and join the session.
Tai-Chi is a gentle and low-impact form of traditional Chinese exercise that helps reduce stress, improve balance, posture and mobility. It was developed in China and combines deep breathing, relaxation and serenity with flowing movements and positions. Workshops on the introduction of the theory and practice of Tai-Chi are also available at Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ CI.
Cultural activities
Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ CI supports events across the university and city, and are always open to approaches to partner on events.
Activities available include:
- Traditional Chinese dances, Tai-Chi, folk music performances, tea ceremonies, papercutting, calligraphy, painting and knots
- Traditional Chinese musical instruments
- Language taster sessions

'Chinese Bridge' proficiency competition
‘Chinese Bridge’ is a large-scale international competition sponsored by Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) recognised in cultural and educational exchanges worldwide.
