We need your help to shape Âéw¶¹´«Ã½'s future – please visit our new microsite

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Katie Normington, recently revealed a consultation process for a new university strategy. It’s a big step forward in making important decisions and planning our future direction. We need the input and engagement of everyone in our Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ community. To support this effort, we have launched a new ‘Shape our Future’ website.

Let us know what matters

During this consultation process we’ll ask you to help us build a new strategy that’s based on your ideas. By doing this, Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ can stay strong, move forward, remain relevant, and continue meeting people’s real needs in the decades ahead.

The consultation is called Shape Our Future because it’s an opportunity to have your say on our work and values. We hope that it will be enjoyable. It will also be challenging, as we want you to think about what we do – and why we do it.

We want you to consider:

  • The values of our organisation
  • A vision for the years ahead
  • And how Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ can be a positive influence locally and in the wider world.

How do I find out more and join the conversation?

We are collaborating with students, staff, and allies beyond the campus to create action plans. For full details go to dmu.ac.uk/shapeourfuture.

To help you gather your own thoughts on these topics, the webpages include an introduction and video from the Vice-Chancellor and insights from external colleagues at the forefront of policy and strategy within higher education. You can also find out more information on the timeline and process and how you can actively participate.

Please take a look at the new webpages and have your say in the coming weeks.

We will release more information about group discussions, workshops and other ways for you to comment and collaborate. Keep a look out for further updates in March, including a video of the Vice-Chancellor with members of the De Montfort Students’ Union Executive Team.
