Learning differences
Students with a Specific Learning Difference (SpLD) such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia or dysgraphia are encouraged to disclose this to Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ as early as possible to ensure support is implemented for the start of your course.
funding can provide practical support to UK Home students, such as:
- 1:1 Study Skills tuition
- Specialist software packages
- Computer equipment
- General allowance e.g. for printing costs
Any support received does not need to be paid back and is valid for the duration of your studies. Eligible undergraduates and postgraduates can apply via the website .
An up-to-date Educational Psychologist assessment or Specialist Teacher assessment (post 16 years) is required to apply for the DSA, but if this is not available, please see below.
Schools or colleges may fund an assessment prior to starting at Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ or an alternative is to privately fund this. However if you hold an Unconditional/Conditional Firm offer with Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ we may be able to pay for the assessment so please contact us to discuss this.
Once evidence is available of your learning difference, support at Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ may include:
- Extra time in examinations
- Tutors informed of support needs
- Library support
