Drug and Alcohol Support
Government recommendations are for men and women to drink no more than 14 units a week. Not sure what a unit is? Check out the for more information.
Here are a few tips to help you stay safe:
- Stay hydrated. Have a glass of water before you have alcohol and alternate alcoholic drinks with water or a soft drink. .
- Swap strong beers or wines for ones with a lower strength (ABV in %). You'll find this information on the bottle.
- Take a break have several drink-free days each week.

Support and Advice on Drug and Alcohol Use
will offer sessions at Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ to complement our wider Healthy Âéw¶¹´«Ã½ programme, supporting our students to look after their health and wellbeing. Watch this to find out more about the Turning Point service.
The sessions are however confidential, and information would only be shared with the university in very exceptional circumstances.
No appointment is needed and the sessions take place fortnightly on Wednesdays between 1.30pm and 5pm in De Montfort Student Union, Pod Space.
